Weight Room with Equipment like Free Weights, Benches, and Incline Bench

Admission Fee and Adherence to Guidelines are required to use our facility.  Admission fee includes use of the weight room, cardio room, indoor track, gymnasium during open gym times, pool during open and lap swim times, and the racquetball court.  Showers and lockers are available on the track and pool levels.  Racquetball and pickleball equipment is available for rent.

Hours:

Indoor Track - Weight Room - Cardio Room

  • Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

 

Open Pickleball Gym

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. 
  • Fridays, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  

 

Open Basketball Gym - Valid Photo ID required (name and photo must match).

  • Normal Schedule
    • Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
    • Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. 
  • Winter Schedule
    • December
      • Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
      • Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
      • Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    • January through February
      • Mondays through Fridays from 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.
      • Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
      • Closed on Sundays
  • Open Basketball Gym Rules
    • Every adult, anyone 18 years of age or older, is required to turn in an official photo ID to the Gym Supervisor prior to entering the gym during open gym
    • Minors, ages 14-17, must provide an official photo ID
    • Minors under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult. When the adult leaves the gym, the minor is required to leave the gym also.
    • An individual will not be permitted to enter the gym without the required ID and the required signature on the Riverfront Community Center Open Gym sign-in sheet.
    • Dunking the basketball, grabbing the basketball goal rim, or grabbing the basketball goal net is prohibited.
    • Sound equipment may not be brought into the gym for any reason during Open Gym.
    • Individuals may not use any portable basketball goals that may be in the gym.
    • Any form of verbal and/or physical altercation will lead to the gym being closed and the police will be called.
    • Fighting will lead to a mandatory one year suspension from participation in the Open Gym program.
    • Violation of any of these policies, or any other gym rules, will lead to the offender being evicted from the gym. Failure to leave the gym when directed to do so by the Gym Supervisor will be cause to call the police.

Fitness Facility Policies

  • General Use – It is the responsibility of the patrons to ensure they have been properly trained before using the fitness equipment.  Improper use may cause serious injuries.  The City of Leavenworth is not responsible for injuries or gross negligence.  All visitors age 16 and older must present ID at check-in at the front desk. 
  • Age Restrictions
    • Ages 10 and under must be accompanied by a parent/guardian age 18 or older to enter the community center
    • Ages 11 and under are not allowed in the weight room or cardio room or on any fitness equipment
    • Ages 12–14 must be supervised by an adult at all times in the fitness rooms
    • No one under age 14 will be admitted into the pool during lap swim unless authorized by the Aquatic Supervisor
    • Ages 15-17 must have a signed permission form from the parent with them or on file
    • Ages 60 and over are advised to consult their physician before beginning any type of fitness regimen.
  • Conduct – No foul language, vulgar music, aggressive or disrespectful behavior will be tolerated.  Absolutely no tobacco or vaping products of any sort are allowed in the center.  No food or soft drinks are allowed in the fitness rooms or the gym. 
  • Equipment - Wipe down equipment before and after use.  Our staff disinfects all the equipment once each day.  Do not drop or slam weights.  Place items back where you found them. 
  • Attire - No cleats or spike shoes of any type (including bike shoes); athletic shoes covering the entire foot must be worn at all times (except in the pool); proper swim-wear or workout attire is required.
