Events

The Riverfront Community Center is a beautiful, historic Union Depot Train Station built in 1888 and was lovingly restored in 1988 as a multi-functional facility. No matter what type of event you are planning, from receptions to reunions, meetings to parties, we can help you arrange the perfect day! "We had our wedding at the Riverfront Community Center on October 30, 2021 and I’m so excited to post this review! Tammy was a joy to work with! She made this experience so easy and fun. The venue is an old train depot that has been converted into a community center. The main floor is the event space with three beautiful rooms as options. The venue looks out over a train track and the Kansas river. There is a walking trail a little bit down the street that takes you to awesome photo ops. As well as the event space being super beautiful and cost efficient, it comes with use of tables and chairs. There is also a team of guys who help set your event up exactly how you want it so all you have to do is show up and decorate! There are also a ton of add-on options such as lighted back drop, projector, lighted ceiling decorations and more! We would definitely use this space again for another event! Venues

Riverview Room - Aptly named for its beautiful views of the majestic Missouri River. An elegant room can host banquets, receptions, weddings, or other special events. It also has an adjoining outdoor patio that overlooks the river.
Women’s Waiting Room - Adjacent to the Riverview Room, this cozy room has a working fireplace, wood-paneled ceilings, and versatile side doors that can be open to access the Riverview Room. The doors close to offer a smaller space with a view of Leavenworth’s historic downtown.
Men’s Waiting Room - Impressive 30-foot wood-paneled ceilings soar above the original woodwork and fireplace. This lovely room also boasts a river view to the east and historic downtown Leavenworth to the west.
Activity Room - This small room downstairs by the basketball gym is perfect for kids’ birthday parties, fitness classes, study sessions, and other smaller events.
Room Fees & Deposits - A 4-hour minimum rental and security deposit are required to reserve a room. Fees include set-up and take-down of tables and chairs and trash removal. Fitness

Hours: Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Payment at the front desk includes admission to the gym during open gym times, indoor track, weight room, cardio room, and pool for lap swim or open swim. Fitness classes have separate fees and do not require an admission fee. See the attached fee schedule for membership and admission pricing.

Corporate Pass Program: Businesses and organizations may pay an annual fee entitling their employees to purchase fitness facility passes at a discounted rate. Organization identification required. Email parksandrec@firstcity.org for more information.
