Sanitary Sewer Overflow in the 1200 block of Metropolitan reported Thursday Oct. 23, 2025

A concerned citizen contacted the City on Oct. 23, 2025 regarding a sanitary sewer overflow at the lift station on Metropolitan Avenue that serves the Bureau of Prisons' facility at Leavenworth. The affected area shows the creek and stormwater surrounding the overflow. Only stormwater in this area would be affected.

BOP-Leavenworth is working to contain the area. Signs have been placed stating this is a contaminated creek area.
