The City of Leavenworth Solid Waste team is planning for extreme heat safety.
If your trash was not picked up on your regular trash day, be sure to have it out by 6 a.m. the following morning. Next week the actual air temperatures are expected to reach 100 degrees by Wednesday.
Our solid waste crews are tasked with working 10-hour days in this extreme heat. They will also be picking up trash early at 6 a.m. Crews will be directed to take several cooling breaks during the day. Therefore it is possible that routes may not be completed during the scheduled day of pickup. Crews will work to finish routes the following morning – which then delays that day’s collection. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
