Network interruption Nov. 25, 2025
We are providing an update about the network interruption we first reported last week. We are and have been working with external information technology experts to conduct a detailed technical investigation into the incident since it was discovered. Our investigation has determined that our issues stemmed from a cyber-attack.
We are working around the clock to resolve the ongoing disruptions to our systems and operations. We do not have a set timeline for the resumption of our full operations, but we will keep the community apprised of our progress. While not a comprehensive list of impacted services, the following areas may require workarounds for the near future:
- Invoice processing for vendor payments
- Online permits and inspections (Please mail or drop off any requests for building permits or inspections to 100 N. Fifth Street, Leavenworth, Kansas, 66048)
- Emailed submission of employment applications (Employment applications can be dropped off or mailed to 100 N. Fifth Street, Leavenworth, Kansas, 66048)
Please know that we take this situation very seriously, and that the privacy and security of information entrusted to us is of the utmost importance to the City of Leavenworth. We are not presently aware of any compromise of sensitive information from this incident, but this remains a focus of our investigation and we will notify any affected individuals if we determine to the contrary.
We do not have any additional information to share at this time, but we will keep you apprised of any relevant developments as the investigation continues. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Leavenworth City Clerk’s office, 913-682-9201.
