The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City of Leavenworth for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The award is given for the fiscal year ended Dec. 31, 2024. This is the 31st year in a row that the City has received this award for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. It can be viewed online at https://www.leavenworthks.gov/finance/page/2024-annual-comprehensive-financial-report
The certificate of achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, according to GFOA, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
The City’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
Roberta Beier, Finance Director, credits her “small but mighty” team for achieving this accomplishment.
