Concrete Maintenance Technician II

The City of Leavenworth is currently seeking a supervisory, skilled concrete finisher to perform tasks involving sidewalk and curb inspections, maintenance and repair for sidewalks and curbs throughout the City of Leavenworth.  This position will perform concrete work to include demolition, forming and finishing of sidewalks and curbs, to include the brick and concrete crosswalks in downtown.  This position is also responsible for the preventative maintenance and inspection and maintenance of all assigned equipment. The Tech II position is a hands-on supervisory position that will also work with the Operations Superintendent to develop short and long range plans, prioritize replacement needs and establish annual work goals and plans.  The Tech II will supervise the Tech I and be responsible for assigning tasks, training and evaluating. A qualified candidate will need to have working knowledge of the basic techniques utilized in concrete work along with knowledge of light to heavy equipment operation principles.  The individual should be self-motivated and appreciate having ownership in the work they do.  The candidate will have strong communication skills, the ability to perform manual labor tasks under variable weather conditions and the ability to work independently and complete work assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

Concrete Maintenance Tech II Minimum Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years old at time of hire; HS diploma/GED equivalent; minimum 3 years’ exp. in concrete finishing work to include operation of light/heavy equipment; 1 year supervisory exp; valid driver’s license and meet insurability standards; 1st Aid/CPR/AED certification within 6 months; Flagger Certification within 1 year of hire; Temporary Traffic Control Certification within 1 year of hire; and CDL Class A with air brake certification within 1 year of employment.

Starting Salary: $52,000 plus excellent benefit package.
