Leavenworth and the Frontier
Military Historic Byway was
featured in a recent segment
of "Sunflower Journeys" on
KTWU.  Leavenworth is the
only city in Kansas that is
located on two byways: 
Frontier Military Historic
Byway & Glacial Hills
Scenic Byway.

 Leavenworth County recently renovated its 1911-1913 Classical Revival-style Courthouse, including the addition of three interior murals painted by local artists (two of which are known nationally).   One mural tells the story of "Bleeding Kansas", another, the story of Kansans' enduring struggle for freedom;  and the final one pays tribute to KS agriculture.
